Mark Twains anmärkning.

Neil Irvin Painters bok The history of white people recenseras i TLS. Avslutningen i denna bör man inte behålla för sig själv. Läs:

We might do better instead to remember the ironic response of Mark Twain in 1898 to the rise of race-based anti-Semitism that he encountered in Austria: "I have no race prejudices, and I think I have no color prejudices nor caste prejudices nor creed prejudices", wrote Twain. "All that I care to know is that a man is a human being - that is enough for me; he can't be any worse."
